SHIII in background -- no sound?
Does anyone know why my SHIII stops outputting sound when it is not in the foreground? If I run it windowed or full-screen and switch to another program, SHIII continues to run (time passes, gramophone tracks run out etc) but nothing comes out of my sound card
![]() I'm trying to run TC128 patrols in the background while doing other things, but without it saying "Ship spotted!" or whatever, it isn't too useful |

Dont know, but I know that only sound that plays is the thunder. Have given me few scares here and there when all of a sudden I hear a low rumble noise coming from the game.

Yes, that's it exactly -- just thunder
![]() How do people play "in the background" with no audio alerts? ![]() |

i think it depends on your system and os, i can minimise it and still have all the sounds (vista), but im not able to re-open/maximise the game window at all, which makes hearing the words "aircraft spotted" even more terrifying!
...easiest solution is to avoid minimising the game and just use a different pc to do your net browsing etc while leaving sh3 running ![]() |

Or run a dual moniter set up. I can't get the game to run full screen on my computer so I have to run it windowed and with a second moniter I can do all kinds of things and still see the game. In fact I am doing it right now. There isn't anything going on worth telling you about though.
