keyboard help
Okay you computer geniuses, I have a question. In TMO 1.9, the crew cannot man the deck gun becaue their slots are behind the ship dials. The cure is simple. On the number pad on the keyboard press the ,/del key and the ship dials drop away allowing the captain to fill the anti aircraft gun crew slots. Here is the problem. I have a laptop and it does its keyboard does not include a numbers layout. I know you are waiting with baited breath for the question, so here it is: "What are the entries on my laptop keyboard that will perform the same function as the ./del key on the number pad. I am hoping the entries will enable me to man the anti aircraft gun.
p.s. I i will send a PM to Ducimus and Lurker to see if they have the answer. I await your response lurking beneath the waves of the coast of Japan, afraid to surface in the face of heavy eneney air patrols because I cannot get my crack anit aircraft gun crew to their battle stations. ![]() |

I went to the website and downloaded the program into my mods folder. I looked at the readme, but it is beyond me. Will this fix my issue? How do I activate the program, as I could not make sense of the instructions. |

SRS Notebook Computer M860TU. It has a standard keyboard but no number pad. It has an Ins/NumLk key, but I do not think NumLk is activated (not sure).

Nope, that's not an SRS computer, it's SRS sound on a Clevo computer. And nope my suggestion of using the Fn key to get the num-pad delete key won't work on your keyboard, apparently. You're going to have to use the keyboard configuring program for SH4.

WAHOO! I solved it.
Windows Vista directed me to a help site where an administrator had posted a comment. It gave step by step instructions on how to edit the registry to toggle the Ins/NumbersLk key on. Basically, you program the registry to start number lock when the computer starts. To clear the ships dials to man the anti aircraft gun, all I have to do is hit the NumLk and delete keys. When not playing TMO1.9, I have to turn off NumLk by holding down the Fn key and NumLk key for five seconds. If I don't do this certain keys on my keyboard produce numbers rather than letters, etc. I can live with this solution for now. Later I will try turning off the NumLk key at start up by entering the appropriate registry value entry. Once I make registry change, NumLk will revert to its normal mode and will not start by default when the computer starts. Then I will try toggling it on when playing the game. For now, NumLk is activate on start up by default, and I will have to remember to toggle it off when not playing TMO. Did that make any sense? I deserve a medal! Thanks for all of your suggestions! |
