Default E3 2010

So I've been watching the E3 press conferences live through my favorite gamesite, and decided to write a rundown of what I've seen so far. Mostly for those to lazy to watch through the mediocre crap.
In chronological order:

Microsoft Conference: I skipped over this just because I don't give a rat's ass on what Microsoft is releasing. Besides it was mostly about Kinetic(Natal)
Although the one interesting thing shown during their conference is the Metal Gear Rising. Which will not be a stealth game but an action game for all three consoles. The main thing that looks promising is the fact that you can enter a slow motion type mode where you can freely move your sword in anyway you want. This can be used to cut through objects in neat ways. From dicing an enemy soldier into little bits, to perfectly slicing a water mellon into by size chunks. If you get the chance you should definately check out the trailer.

EA games: Their conference started off with Need for Speed Hot Pursuit which will be returning the series back to it's basic roots of racing and running frmo the police. You can play two campaigns one as a cop and one as a racer. You can also play said games online in the same fashion. The main thing I like about this title is it's being made by the makers of Burnout(my favorite arcade racing series).

Next up was Dead Space 2, which looks like more of the same form the first one.

Following that was Medal of Honor, which definately looks like it'll be giving CoD a run for it's money(especially online) It looks like it'll be a blast to play, especially when you can man Bradley APC's in multiplayer battles.

After that they started talkin about the sims 3 for consoles and then went on to talk about sports games, at this point I was playing solitaire. After that they talked about their new fitness game and then Knights of the Old Republic(MMO). Finally they showed BulletStorm which looks like an over the top shooter with cursing thrown in just because. Nothing really important here.

Ubisoft Conference: Starts with some guy playing some game for the kinetic. Then they show off AC: Brother hood. Which looks to totally up the action and scale from AC2. I'll keep my eye on it.

They then showed Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Which definitely intrigued me.

Next they talk about Shaun White skateboarding, two kinetic games, some computer thing that monitors your breathing, Driver San Francisco, Two PSN/XBLA games, one which reminded me of Black and White, Rayman, and then the horrid Michael Jackson game.

I skipped the Nintendo conference since I was at work.

Although Next up is the Sony Conference which I'm highly looking forward too.

Edit: EA also showed off Crysis 2 which is looking to be amazing. Also as a side note 90% of the third party conferences where using the PS3 demos.

Hmm, Metal Gear Rising an action game instead of stealth... Could that work?

Driver San Francisco, I'll have my eyes on that one. Wonder if the replay editor is back in, it was fun making mini-films of being chased by cops and driving like a madman in Driver 3 and the earlier titles.

MGS4 Can be played as an action game, so yeah it can work. Also If you played MGS3 there was a nightmare part that was an action game just like Devil May Cry.

My main issue with the new driver is the fact that Tanner is in a coma, and all the action is happening in his head. This leads to the ability to jump out of your car and take over any other car on the fly.

Edit: Mind you'll play as whoever is driving that car. Not actually as Tanner. So it's kinda like the Agents from the Matrix

Sounds weird.

A Just Cause-ish Driver game?

Edit: Even weirder.

Sony's Conference:

This was definitely the best I've seen. It started out with 3D and PS Move gaming both of which look great. Especially the Move, it turns the Ps3 into a HD PS3 but with more precision. Both work together and a wide arrange of upcoming and older games will be able to use both.

They went on to talk about the PSP and it's upcoming line up of games.
At one point they brought out Kevin Butler from the PS commercials for some stand up humor.

Finally they started to get into the Core Ps3 games. They brought out one of the EA executives and he announced that Dead Space 2, Medal of Honor, and other EA games will have exclusive content for the ps3 for free. For example Dead Space 2 will include Dead Space Extraction(the wii game) for free, while Medal of Honor will include Medal of Honor Front line(with upgraded graphics) for free. While Crysis 2 on the Ps3 will be in true 3D. They went on to name other games from other companies that will have exclusive PS3 content such as AC: Brotherhood and Mafia 2.

He walks off the stage and all the screen's turn black. GlaDOS from Portal starts talking about how she'll be deploying a surprise in 3 2 1. The lights turn on and Gabe Newell walks out. He then retracts what he said about the PS3 from it's release. And then goes on to say that the Ps3 Version of Portal 2 will be the best on all the consoles since it will take advantage of Steam Cloud and updates. I'm hoping steam cloud will allow you to play your PS3 save files on the PC version and vice versa. Then they showed the first footage of Portal 2.

Last but not least they showed the line up for Ps3 with plenty of footage. Starting with Killzone 3(which looks awesome), Infamous 2, Gran Turismo 5, Mortal Kombat(which will be multi console), and finally Twisted Metal.

*sigh* Sega was to have Aliens: Colonial Marines to show on this year's E3 and was in the floormap until Sunday, now is not.

Every year someone has to announce a console as the "winner" of E3, this year I'd have to say it's the PS3 hands down.

Also for those people who already own a Ps3, you can check out Sony's booths online in Playstation Home(I've yet to do this)

There's an E3 article on this game either over at gamespot or gamespy, although I can't remember which exactly.

Here's an article:

All sounds pretty gd. NFS particularly, and of course I cnt wait for GT5, and Portal 2 for that matter. I'm actually really looking forward to Bulletstorm as it's from the peeps who made Black for PS2 which is one of my all time fav games. They said it's gonna be a sort of spiritual successor to it (gun porn!!!1!!1! yayz!), bit of a shame they aren't making another Black though as it was originally going to be a trilogy. I have to say I'm pretty hyped over PS Move too...

No, Bulletstorm is going to be made by Epic games(the people responsible for Gears of War). The spiritual successor to Black is BodyCount. Which I am also looking forward to getting.

As for GT5, I plan on buying the collectors edition, along with a steering wheel.
