Hi all,
Does anyone know how to get the in-game map to display contour lines? This is the effect I'm looking for - an Admiralty Chart: ![]() Is it even possible? I've tried using the gradient.tga, but it's not 'fine' enough - I get swathes of black on the map. ![]() Any advice would be most welcome! Mike. ![]()

That's something I'd be interested in. I know the topic of depth indications has come up before but it would be a huge, long job. I'm not sure anyone has that kind of patience, LOL.
As to the contour lines, not a bad idea, it would make the chart more 'realistic' IMHO (although I'm not sure if they used coloured charts back then). |

Hmm, I wouldn't have the patience to put the depth-readings in either.
![]() IIRC, the game world is under sized anyway, so using ones from a real map wouldn't work. I am intrigued about popping in contour-lines - it'd be a happy medium. Just enough extra detail, but not too much. Nice if it could be done.... ![]() Changing the actual colour of the map's easy, you just need to alter the gradient.tga to reflect your tastes. ![]() Anyone any ideas or thoughts? The more the merrier! Mike. ![]()

If that little black pencil did more than just "X's" then this would be a no-brainer. You could depth ping and simply write the sounding right on the map and I believe the markings would be saved with the game (y/n?). Conversely you could take a screenshot and simply save a hardcopy as your "chart" so to speak.
Man, that would be the breakthrough mod wouldn't it, if someone could get that pencil to do what it was originally advertised as doing, namely allowing you to make notes on the map. It was doable in previous versions of the game (pre-SHIII) and yet they couldn't bring it to this one, damn shame!! |

I don't think in ww2 they had maps that would be that accurate.
