A regular type VIIB/C U-Boat has about 50 crew members.
I can only find about 20 from bow to stern. Where are they? |

When you're two compartments away the game should not bother rendering crew you cannot see. This would solve the problem, would it not?

There is actually 50 crew members aboard your sub, they just run away from the compartment you just entered so you only see the reminder of the crew who you don't scare to death.
You should ease up on being such a harda** Kaleun, mate! ![]() Joking aside, you're right. The SHV does not "run" full crew (among other things). What bothers me more is that your crew members are actually "ghosts" you can walk right through. I wish some modder fixed that issue.... ![]()

The game is wrong. Type VII's typically would not have carried 52 crewmen aboard. If you look at the crew lists of Type VII's sunk during the war, you'll see the actual crew number was somewhere in the mid-40s.

More crew would equate to more computer power needed, and then we'd have more complaints on that, that why didn't they use less crew members to keep the CPU less busy and it could run on the present day systems, or a wider variety of systems.
Thats what everyone complained about when FSX released. The systems capable of running it with all 50 crew members onboard would be three years away, or very few would have such a powerful system now.

really? I find that hard to belive. Why is animated crewmember so heavy on the graphics card? Surely there could be more demaning games out there, graphics-wise?
I mean, they dont have to render them all at once. |
