Default noob question. is it possible to...

end/quit a mission that you have not managed to complete?

Reason im asking that my boat and crew was severly damaged otw to the mission
area, so i had to turn back. when i finaly made it to a friendly port (not the same one i left from since it now was part of the japan empire) i got the popup window, but the end mission option was grey and i could only chose "refuel and rearm" and "pospond".
Neither option was really desirable as half my crew neded to be replaced.
rearming and refuling, and then going back to complete my mission is madness since
i barely have enough crew to man the boat.

Should i try another port and hopefull i can "end" my mission there or?

what should i do ?

Any and all help appriciated.

you can end a mission without completing it and why it is grey out your not at your home port so you need to find your home port

As les green01 stated you can only "dock" at your home port, BUT if you are playing the stock game or don't have any MODs that change it...A refit will repair most of the damage. It will NOT repair Hull damage. And it will refresh your crew.
So you can go to the nearest port and refit and if you don't have any hull damage you can go back and continue your mission. If you have hull damage then you have to make a choice depending on how much hull damage, whether to return to your home port or go on patrol.

thnx guys. much appriciated.

To my amazement, when i logged back into the game yesterday, half of my crew which had health = 0 was now back to 100%... and here i thought they were all dead
i did what you lads suggested and turned back to complete the mission after refitting the boat AND the crew
