All i know for sure is that there are viewable trailers, and it is on the list of upcoming films on imdb.com with a release date of 3 SEP 2010

Though some might view it as an artistic fantasy work no different from any other film... like the man says, movies are the propaganda of our times. This film has the potential to stir illegal (and even legal) Mexican immigrants to violent acts.

Border violence has already spilled over into the border states... for God's sake they might not know it in places like New York or Philly... but these border states are border line at war here.

Sure seems to really hit the pulse of the nation.

This country is more divided than i have ever seen it in my lifetime... with health care reform, illegal immigration, border security, and the rift between conservatives and progressives (which in my opinion is no longer a rift... it is an expansive and deep chasm)

I might stop short of calling our situation a "powder keg" but i have to say i dont think it would take much for things to get really ugly.

It would seem that multculturalism "ain't what it's cracked up to be".

they keep calling America a "Melting Pot" and we have the term "e pluribus unum" (out of many, one)

major problem is that the "many" it refers to... want to immigrate to America, but they do not want to become "one"

nobody says they have to abandon their culture, but when they demand American culture takes a back seat to their native national culture - thats a problem.

America is being invaded. Clear and simple.

I mean, one of the major spanish radio station networks throughout the southern united states is called "La Invasora" for crying out loud.

I doubt the movie will be the catalyst for violence. There's still plenty more that can be done to push our species over the edge.

Heya Rivet, what genre is that radio station? And call letters/frequency? Quite a few hits, from San Diego to Minneapolis. One in Tampa, another in St. Paul. Long View.

however, did you even watch HALF the video?

very good points brought up by the reviewer... though i doubt it would be the catalyst for an all out race war, i could see it causing large scale acts of violence by the immigrant population, or perhaps even localized riots.

there is already enough border violence down here, why fan the flames?

Actually, no I didn't watch any of it. Not really all that surprised that a medium would be used to incite animosity, not even surprised something like that would be leaked to the public, not surprised that it would raise some hackles. Been done before, will be done again and again and again until humans evolve beyond fearful/hateful lines of thinking (if we ever do).

With that said, I guess I better watch it and see what the real hubub is about. Probably that same rancid BS we've heard time and again. *sigh*

Illegal immigration is a major problem down here in the border states.

Unfortunately we get the impression from the Federal Government that it is "our problem".

fun fact:

in a 30 day period in the border town hospital where my father works, 300 illegal immigrant women per month show up (on average) to give birth to their children.

Because the ER cannot turn these women away, guess who pays for the procedure?




I applaud Arizona personally... they are doing what the Federal Government lacks the stones to do.

I can't help but feel a bit skeptical about what I saw in the video. Something makes me wonder if those movie producers were leading him on when they expressed their concerns to him. But, the language and the portrayals of Caucasians as xenophobic rednecks does leave me with a good sum of curiosity. Maybe the intention is to ignite the passions that are already in the air, maybe not.

What really started to tip the bucket toward psychosis was when he starts talking about it being a "psy op". Queue the shiny black helicopters and jack-booted government thugs. Or maybe he meant to say that powers outside the US are at work, I don't know. Seems that the human race has really gotten itself into a stinker of a mess, again. Where's a good punching bag when I need one.

OTOH it could be beneficial in the long run for more ingrates to take the script literally. They can kill each other off, and the rest of us can find cover and take all the good sniping positions.

Looks like a Mexploitation movie, in the same vein as the Blaxploitation ones. None of those cause a race riot in the 1970's, I doubt this one will cause one in the 2010s.

So civil war or not? hmmmm Maybe that X KGB dude was right about the US collapsing in it self in 2010... Someone posted that article way back about a russian who predicted the US fracturing into smaller nations.. Stuff like this can help make it happen...

Uh...it's a sort-of parody of exploitation films. If it's anything like the "trailer" for it in Grindhouse, it'll be a pretty good one.

Take whatever you hear from Alex Jones with a salt mine's 6 month output's worth of salt.
