You can turn the TDC on and off by clicking on the WO icon.

I'd have a look at this thread too - might help you matey

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=164131

Contains tutorials (including videos) of all versions of the TDC.

Do you lock target with "space" command? When you lock targets you will be able to identify the ships ...

Here You Go check out this thread

You have the Identify Target key mapped & tons of others with this mod, all you have to do is lock the target & hit the (I) key

Code:
i am using a keymap mod, (shift-I for me) im also using darkwraits ui update 1.9
& you still can't Identify a target? Well then I might suggest that possibly one of the other mods you are using is conflicting because all I have to do is hit the I key when locked & it is Identified as long as I have a lock on it. Also some of the other TDC settings are set with other keys that I modified myself be using Timetravellers SH3key checker. I can't remember where I got it. You might just have to reinstall SH5 to clear up any Mod Soup going on.

i think it may be a conflict with the ui mod and the keymap mod not sure yet but i switched ui's within the ui mod im using and it satrted working again. however if their is a convoy it only allows me to ID the first ship automatically, if i want to ID another i have to do it manually.
