Attention All Radio/Gramophone Users!!

I've been having crash to desktops (CTD’s) for two weeks now--and only yesterday had the chance to try and troubleshoot the problem. First I thought it was a mod--so I tried with and without every mod (except one--hehe, see below) and couldn't find the problem. In Event Viewer in Windows 7, the errors always referenced the MSVCR90.dll. I looked this up and basically gleaned that multiple (past) installations could be the culprit. Also, I o'clock my hardware--so I obviously set everything to default--and that wasn't it either. I disabled my anti-virus, installed on another hard drive, ran registry cleaner, and said thirty hailmary's. Nothing seemed to work. Then I googled the MSVCR90.dll file AND SHV, and saw someone had a similar problem, and they found the root cause to be the C++ version they had installed. I, too, had multiple version of C++, so I uninstalled all of them, and then re-installed SHV. No dice. FINALLY, after thinking "surely it can't be a simple radio mod", I disabled the one mod I thought couldn’t possibly be the cause: Carotio's Intercontinental Radio. I set a course for the u-boat, went to bed, woke up this morning and it was still running perfectly. So--I wanted to make a poll to see if anyone else ever gets the error when running Carotio's radio mod, or any other for that matter. Time compression also seems to contribute to my problem--

I voted 'never' have CTD, but I have had 4. However 2 were related to a harbor bug, and 2 were related the the nav map.

Hi Sailors,

i got some few CTDs while running a Radio Mod. Not sure which ones because i mixed them up long time before...
I think it is a Radio Mod where a DHB Folder is included.

It happened always on one Day at exactly 12:00 o`Clock. So i just deleted the Events in the Events.cfg for that Day at that Time and it runned again without CTDs.

Example:

[EVENT]
StartDate=15.08.1941
StartTime=12.00.00
MediaFile=1941-08-15 Co Bei Mir Bist Du Schön.mp3

Caused a CTD at exactly 12:00 on 15.08.1941 and so i just deleted it and CTD gone...

IMPORTANT: It didn`t matter if i used the Radio (ingame) or not, i mean it didn`t matter if i played the Radio or not at that Time while playing, it caused an CTD because of an Event at that day...

So if anyone experiences CTDs at point 12:00, then check the Event in a Radio Mod in the Events.cfg... Should be always a problem there...

Maybe someone get the same probs and can now solve them by checking those Files...

Cheers

Maybe it's the umlaut in the file name? I know when I tried to use an umlaut in another text area in game it rendered as a "?" so if it's looking for a file, but can't read the name, perhaps that's causing an issue?
