Can't dock..

So I restarted a Campaign so I could enjoy full realism from 1939.

Now I finished my first patrol, return to Kiel and.. no dock Icon..

I've NEVER repeat NEVER had this in any of my other games (I went all the way through to Murmansk Campaign and Mediterranean Campaign.)

So wtf.. I saved and reloaded yet no go..

With regards to getting to not getting the Dock at Kiel button during the tutorial, it's because you skipped the step in the tutorial it to teach you about Time Compression. You never completed the "plot a course to Kiel" objective though, so the UI is hiding icons till you do what you were told.

Here's basically how you're probably plotting your course right?



That's not good enough, notice the yellow mission objective icon is still under Kiel. So you plot a bit more...



Well, surely that's "to Kiel" right, I mean it's right next to the word! Nope.. still not enough, plot more...



That's basically how far into Kiel harbor you need to plot to complete the objective that unlocks the TC controls for you. Plot to there, then it'll open up the missing UI elements.

If you have completed the tutorial and then done your first patrol, BDU moves you to Williamshaven without telling you. Look for the sub icon on the map, that is your rtb point.

Guys, I remember all of this, I made it up to Mare Nostrum and Arctic Convoys so I remember how to do the tutorials and the switch to Wilhemsaven.

In essence, I skipped the tutorial, and I went back and forth from Kiel to Willhemsaven to check if it would work. Finally it did, I had to go to 0x TC and then up to 1X TC and then toggle some things on TheDarkWraiths UI to get it to appear

Sometimes the dock icon simply doesent appear. Minimize the UI then bring it back up again and poof there it is

The other ... funnier... way is to sail the boat into the pen manually just as you enter the pen you will be wisked away to the dock magically.

Oh yea the boat keeps sailing without you on it and slams into the end of the pen. Dont worry it wont damage it. Just cut the motors and laugh.

And also remember that unless the HUD is on by the shift+Z command, these icons like the dock icon do not show. There are many ways in which the HUD will show, but is not active and information and icons will not appear unless you hit shift+Z, even though the HUD is already showing.

So if your were to turn it off by shift=Z, and it comes on by some other way like if you pull up the map, interact with a crew member for instance it will be showing but not fully active. If so, just hit shift+Z and the hud's infromation system and icons will then become active.
