Default Success! (Doh!)

So I'm playing GWX3.0 with the Sub commander, and I spot me a merchant off the coast of Germany. I figured, aww what the heck, let's start a war off early. So I used the attack wheel I built, set up the 0* Gyro angle shot, and waited till I could see the flag.

Sweet! It's a Frenchie, let's start a war early (Aug 1939). I figure, no biggie. I had my tube all ready, and fired right as he came across my lead bearing of 15. I tracked the torp in all the way using external (I'm still learning, so, might as well) and BAM! Success! Right in the port side at the engine room.

But wait, since when does France have a yellow center for a flag???? I thought it was red white and blue! Turns out, I just sank a Romanian flagged ship, Doh

I did, however, feel real proud of myself for setting up the shot perfectly, hit right where I wanted it too.

So, I told the exec Bernard did it, and maybe we should keep this under wraps.

How's the renown looking.

BDU says not to worry about the romanian ship. (A training evolution.)

However, the captain and Bernard will have to work off the cost of the torpedo, TOGETHER.

I'd continue using external view until I recognised what flags each country has

Must've been an especially costly training evolution

See, worst part was is I KNEW it was a Frenchie man, Red, White, Blue bars all in a row. Then as I was zooming in, it was still white, then all of a sudden it changed. To yellow! It's a conspiracy man.

I remember having this nice set up off the coast of Africa. Two nice big cargo ships flying Japanese flags. Easy set up.

Then I remembered I was playing SH3 and not SH4

And that I was in the Atlantic and not the Pacific.

And that Japan was allied with the Germans

You may have noticed how clean the submarine pens are at Lorient. That's me scrubbing the pens with my tooth brush.

Yeah. The whole "Blame Bernard" thing didn't work out so well. So, I too, have a clean sub-pen. Just shaved in front of a steel beam, in fact.
