Default Widescreen Monitor Plugged in to Laptop

I need some advice.

I have a laptop and have plugged in a much larger HD monitor to see how this game looks on the big screen.

I've started the game in windowed mode so that I can pull the game over from the laptop onto the big screen on the other monitor beside the laptop.

Under Game Options (SH5), Graphics Settings... Game Resolution...
I can not select an option large enough to utilize the big monitor. It is only allowing me choices that work with the size of my laptop.

Maybe I've done several things wrong in this process...

Can someone give me a tutorial... hey dork, do this... instruction? ?

The Catalyst Control Center for my ATI Raedeon card? That's where I've been fiddling and working.

The Vid card won't output nonsupported resolutions for your Laptop. Your stuck with whatever the LCD screen can handle... pretty sure anyways.
