Default Pics from my trip to U-995 Laboe

Hello All

Just got back to Ireland from Germany today. I have uploaded my photos from my trip to the U-995 in Laboe. It was an eye opener, pretty amazing.
The photos have been resized small bit from 1920x1080 to 1440x810. So the details are all there still.

UPDATED with interior and exterior shots. Mind you the interior shots are a bit if a hit and miss with focus and flash. I have uploaded them all in any case. They are also a bit out of order it seems.

Hope you like em'.

Enjoy!

Those are very good shots Gian, thanks for sharing. I thought about making my way there not too long ago, it's still on the list.

Great shots Gian! U-995 looks like a more complete boat than the U-505 that I had a chance to visit in Chicago, and it looks like you got to explore a lot more than I did as well, great job!

Very nice, Gien!
I was just there at the end of February and the boat (covered in snow) was closed due to ongoing maintenace. The museum in the memorial was open though. That was great!

Wow, either your friend is tiny or that's a LOT bigger than I'd thought!

Looks like Salma's trying to tune into Tokyo.

Thanks for the pics, Gian.

Why were the torpedo tubes sealed (first pic)?

After so many years spent outside, I hope someone is thinking to shelter it in an encolsed structure, like it has done to the Uboot in Chicago.

Thanks all for the nice comments. I was surprised at the size... it was bigger than I thought from the outside. I is sometimes difficult to get a true perspective even when looking at pictures and film.

It is great that she is completely out of the water and the whole boat visible.

@kylania hehe erhmm that is me, I am average hight 5,8 feet

@reaper 7, I didn't see the TDC unless I am blind, but it could have been removed by the Norwegian navy who operated the boat for a while after WW2 and was never replaced. I will look into that.

@mswyx ues the torpedoe tubes were sealed unfortunataly. For the most part she is a pure WW2 relic, with inevitable repairs and modifications that probably were deemed minor or to expsensive to reintroduce.
