Default No rain at all?

I've played 3 patrols now and I've never once had rain. This strikes me as odd. I searched around to see if this is a bug, but apparently others have experienced it, along with thunder and stuff. I haven't even seen overcast skies!

Also, the weather stays the same for a week. Hope they change the weather pattern or have allowed the modders to tweak it.

I seem to get fog.
In vast month long patches.
Still, at least I get some variation.
It changes from light to heavy fog, then back again.
Hey WO, what's the weather like up there?
It's foggy sir.

I only seem to get medium fog, also for long periods of time. It's either clear or medium fog. And still no bloody rain!

It is a quintessentially human propensity to seek patterns where only randomness exists

I've seen fog, wind and rain so heavy that the only way I could track a ship from 300m away was by following it's wake in the waves. Couldn't see the thing at all! Even after I accidentally hit it and it caught fire, I didn't see it til 100m away, glowing and on fire, faintly.

Why thank you sir!

It just bothers me that I've seen no decent storms with rain showers and clouds as black as asphalt.

You mean like these? To be fair that picture was Auto Tone/Color'd in Photoshop, here's the original untouched screen shot. (Erm, actually the "original" was taken a second later than the retouched one, but the clouds are the same. heh)

The only time I saw rain was when I loaded up a saved game. It was a bright, clear, sunny day with blue skies all around (as when I saved it), and yet the rain was pouring

I reloaded the same save game right away, and this time the rain was gone. Strange...

Otherwise, all I've seen is medium fog or reasonably clear weather. No overcast and no clouds. I think I saw that there is some seasonal variation set in the .cfg files, but November around Scotland ought to product some rain, really!!!

Based on the letters that hang below the line, (q y, p p y, p y) and their spacing within the sentence (long long, short short long, long long) it's clear that with your witty remark you're trying to say in Morse Code:

M U M
