Default Saved game issue please help

Hey all. Well first off I did a search for this problem and found one post but the guy said he "rebooted" and everything was fine, however that has not worked for me so just wanted to see if anyone here has any helpful ideas

Problem is when I load a saved game at the end of the loading sequence it crashes to the desktop with no error. Was working fine for several days, now ALL of my saved games do this. I tried the usual things, restarting comp and all that good stuff, but no go. I havent tried reinstalling the game, trying to use that as a last resort, I got the game from steam and I hear you are given limited licenses so was a little hesitant to install again. Anyway if anyone has encountered this and has a fix, or anyone has some things to try, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The one of the selling points about the DRM was unlimited installs anywhere, and the whole point of Steam is unlimited installs anywhere, so I think you're safe to reinstall.

Good luck, I lost a whole day of saves due to Ubisoft thinking "synch" means "remotely overwrite with old data" rather than "make sure we both have the same stuff".

Well had steam remove the game files and reinstall, and the saves still crash to desktop

I thought sure that would do it, what could cause all my saved games to stop working that a reinstall wont fix is competely beyond me. Any ideas on things to try?

I could start over of course, but its definitly discouraging to lose all my saves and start from the beginning. Not to mention the fact that it may well happen again... sigh

Im loving the game so far, the bugs have been fairly minor up to today, but yeah losing all your saves is definitly a kick in the teeth haha.

I had this issue, luckily i had an auto save from entering port that worked.
I now save regularly and create 3 different saves as well as keeping all the autosaves.
I reckon it is simply corrupt save files.
