Would it be possible to tie the Map Contact Update function to the stadimeter assuming the stadimeter will one day be correct?
This way, you would not see a map contact plotted until a target has been ID'd and ranged, with the map contact then being drawn according to the information gathered. I think this would be a bit more realistic implementation rather than map contacts suddenly appearing with a course, bearing and distance automatically. The idea here is that I am calling out the distance and bearing of the contact according to the information I am gathering, with someone else actually plotting it out. Contacts would also continue on the course and speed plotted as part of the DR that would naturally occur. Sounds to me like a more realistic approach. |
