Default Fantastic Convoy

On my latest patrol I've come across a convoy of 30 merchant ships guarded by 5 destroyers and unfortunately I'm on the wrong side and even more annoying I only have 2 torpedoes left.

How do I radio in contacts this is too good an opportunity to miss?

Press 'K' for log and there are two icons on lower left corner. An envelope for status report and ship icon for reporting convoys.

Thanks for the quick reply but I won't be surfacing anytime soon I only saw half the destroyers there are actually 11. Still gonna try and sneak in the middle and take out a merchant or two.

Wish me luck I'll post how things turn out.

I lived to tell the tale managed to get in front of the convoy and bide my time then I popped up in the middle and used my final torps. Managed to take out 1 merchant and badly damage a second then I just dropped deep and charted my way to safety.

This game is really starting to grow on me behind all the rough edges a diamond may yet shine. Give it a proper go and you might be suprised.

Oh, but shine it does. I just logged on here to post about a convoy I just bumped into.

I was traversing the british channel when the crew reported smoke on the horizon. I quickly ran up the ladder and lo and behold, the whole horizon seemed like on fire. It turned out to be a 30+ convoy with 4 (what I could see) escorts heading straight towards me.

Now here's the fun part, as I positioned myself and silently wondered how I was going to get rid of the escorts I heard a buzzing noise and a few seconds later my crew happily announce that they've spotted aircrafts, and that they're OURS! The Luftwaffe came sweeping in, atleast 8 or 12 planes and started to attack the escorts at full force. While they were busy with that I sank 4 large merchants. When they sank all the escorts they turned upon the convoy and I tell you, it was the most actionpacked moment I've ever had in a subsim! Airplanes all over the skies, burning merchants everywhere and then me, the gray wolf, prowling in their midst and torpedoing everything that move while the deckgun made short work of any stragglers, all to the music of Das Boot's Konvoi pumping in the background.

All in all, I confirmed 10 sunk merchants by me before my torps and shells ran out, but strangely enough the captains log said I sank 17.

I just ran into an unguarded 4 column convoy in the SW approaches. There actually were some escorts a few KM north of it, but I'm not sure if that was a task force that happened to be crossing near the convoy, or if they were off chasing another U-boat or something. But it was dark, raining and I felt like Otto Kretschmer as I stalked down the columns, surfaced and unseen. Picked off 2 ships and made my escape. It was great!

While patrolling British coastal waters, I happened upon a convoy of about 20 ships - TOTALLY UNESCORTED!!

Sunk about 8 or 9 of them and would have sunk more, but it was getting to be 3 AM and I needed sleep. I can't find the log that lists what I've sunk. I can click on the wheel at the bottom right corner, which simply tells me the number of ships and tonnage sunk, but no list. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Click on message itself. It should expand and tell you time, position, class and tonnage. You may have to click and then scroll down.
