Default Hi all, I'm In! SH5 Rocks!

Hey, guys:
Just wanted to say hi to everyone and thanks for this great support. Through my years I have had Silent Hunter II, III and IV. To be honest none were as good as SHIII. As I can see, we all agree this was the best one. Somehow the Pacific chapter just did nothing for me even thou I am an American. However even with SH III I was just a casual player. I never fired up a campaign. Just a few quick missions and then I would put it away for a month or a year...

Now here we are with SH5. I was not prepared for what I saw on Youtube. But since the reviews were not great, I decided to fire up SH III again. I visited this site and got some mods and became sort of hooked on it. Althou I was sceptical about SH5 I changed my mind when I saw that folks were playing and enjoying the sim. I took the not so big plunge(Amazon $10 a week ago. I had nothing to lose. I have yet to mod the sim and I am already amazed at the beauty and detail of it. I started with the tutorial (fun) then moved on to the Campaign (more fun). I also tried a few Historical missions. They are a challenge! SH5 is the IMO best. Yes, there are some issues. However, I am sure the mods will transform SH 5 like they did SH III. It really is a case of slowly, slowly catchy monkey.
To all new user out there, please be patient and persevere with this sim. Always remember to back your stuff up too. Read a lot and follow the advice of the Sub Aces.
Ok, now I am off to read my butt off on how to mod this Sim.

Thanks to all the modders out there that make this fun game possible.

Same here maico, once I got used to the new ui I am really enjoying myself. All the years playing the silent hunter games, I barely ever finnished a patrol, never even got to 1940. This time is gonna be different, I will play more.

Welcome RightLane!

Remember the trick of typing silentotto at the new Campaign screen to unlock all the campaigns if you wanted to try something later on in the war.
