Please we need an Hydrophonefix for the steam version!

Hi steamusers we need a fix for the hydrophone isnt it?

We want also play silent hunter 5 in her glory and we need a good hydrophone.
But TWD has only a fix for DVD users.
TDW doesnt and cant help us.

He says : Unable to provide solution to Steam users. The steam sh5.exe uses a form of self-modifying code copy protection that 'unpacks' the code when the executable is run. This form isn't impossible to read and decipher it just takes longer and quite frankly the reward to time relationship isn't worth it for me (not to mention that I can't run the .exe since I don't own the steam version of the game - I own the boxed version of the game). Sorry all. This is one reason why I never buy Steam based games unless I have to.

If you are a good programmer or a debugger help us.
We need people who can know and can work with hexeditors ,dll files and exe files.

Thank you!
The steam users..

not to sound like a pessimist but I highly doubt anyone will do this. The amount of time it will take is considerable.

For the small amount of $ SH5 costs for the DVD version it isn't worth the time/effort for anyone to make this work for Steam version.

TDK can you send the orginal sh5.ex of your DVD version?

The sh5.exe from Steam is not compatible with your patch updater.

What you're thinking won't work. You can't swap exe files between the Steam version and the DVD version. Tried that already.

I paid 4 Euros for DVD version in december.

Steam is good for unmoded games but for Games with an important modding comunity it´s better purchase DVD versions.

Yep.

I was getting frustrated too (being a Steam user), but then I realized that I could get a hard copy of the game for about 5 bucks (that's about the price of a pack of smokes) AND help Uncle Neal finance this forum. I'd have paid for the latter alone.

Ordering my hard copy now.

I'm with you, Trevally. I LOVE Steam (most of the time). They've got super deals quite often (to the point where I have to force myself not to visit the store on the weekends or I know I'll walk away with another half dozen games I won't have time to play ), but most of all I love having my game library stored on somebody else's server, rather than having to keep track of half a million boxes cluttering up my office space. Oh, and of course the convenience of not having to hunt for an hour for that dang disc #1 to that old game on my hard drive that I haven't played in ages but suddenly want to play again, except it won't run unless I locate the disc and plop it in the drive first.

Yeah. That used to happen to me a lot. A LOT! And don't get me started on the times where I finally had to give up on finding that old classic in my closet and ended up going out to buy the thing for the second time so I could play it again.

Anyway, getting the Steam version of SH5 was a mistake on my part and I don't even have an excuse, since I've been with the SH franchise for a long time and know that it needs modding of the heavy kind, which isn't always something that Steam versions like.

Self-inflicted wound entirely but, at $5, a pretty cheap one to heal.
