Okay so I got the JSGME thinggy. I was definatly planning on getting Run Silent Run Deep. But I think I'm torn between TMO and RFB. I am completly new to the sub sim thing but I love sims and realism. But I want to play the game and enjoy and learn. So I guess I want to probably have simple Torp mechnaics and such while i learn the over all basics of the game, then maybe get in to the nitty gritty calculations for firing solutions and the like, once ive gotten a handle on the rest of the game.
I know both these up the difficulty. But can I use the mod enabler thinggy, to switch between mods? and if so can I try out each mod in the same campaign? or do i have to have a RFB campaign and a TMO campaign. and play the mod depending on which campaign I want to work on? It seems like both RFB and TMO have alot of similarities, so is it just personal preference? Thanks for the help guys. |

I think it's more a question of personal preference than anything else. I never played RFB (yet) and gotta say that TMO saved the game for me. it was either the mod or get dust on the shelf.
Regarding campaings, yes, you will have to have a new campaign for the mods. Although, if you look around the stickys there must be something there regarding multiple SH4 install on your computer. In this way, you wouldn't need to change back and forth on the JGSME every time you want to play RFB or TMO.

There is a mod called Multi Sh4 that will run two installs. I got it and it works well.
RSRD makes both RFB and TMO better. Here is the link to multiSh4: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=108215 Magic
