Possible help for very bad FPS

well, i just wanted to play Starcraft 1, and went to properties and noticed that in the compatibility tab, there is an option on vista (Maybe for XP too, im not sure) that allows you to play i 640x480 res. I coudnt play Sc cause it couldnt load a file and was thinking about playing SH5. but i stopped playing really because it was INSANELY laggy FPs wise (7-9 FPS EVERYWHERE except nav map). then t hit me. since silent hunter has such good graphics (TOO good for older computers, or even new ones just with old graph cards) and they didnt include the option for a 640x480 res, that i at least should try it.. i loaded it up and BAM. it improved to about 20 or so FPS a second inside the sub, which made it run SO MUCH BETTER. now my computer is great, but my graphics card blows so hard (ati radeon 3200, ancient for new games) that i only saw a little improvement, but the graphics still look amazing.

im sure other people have thought of this, but for people who havent, try it. the graphics still own, but you have a much much better fps.
