Default GWX and Linux

Has anyone ran (running) GWX3 under a Linux OS, maybe using WINE or a similar prog? As more and more drivers are being released for Linux distros, I don't think there would be a prob from that angle.

I don't get it. According to the AppDB at WineHQ, SH3 should run quite well using WINE in Linux. You'd think that GWX wouldn't make any difference, since it still uses the same core.

Perhaps you're missing something in the config, irish?

Thanks for the note; I have an old computer (about 5 years) that I formated and installed Unbuntu. I am still learning the ins and outs; but when I tried to install SH3 in Wine, I couldn't get it to work. I am sure I must have done something wrong, as your note says I should be able to do it. I'll give it another go as I would like to have it set up for my grandsons to play so they will leave my computer alone.
By the way, Unbuntu is great.

I like Ubuntu Ultimite Edition.
It was done by a friend of mine.
Nice thing is,
that if it acts funny?
I can go bang on his door and make him fix it.

I have SH3 with GW 3.0 gold edition running almost perfect in my Gentoo Linux with wine-1.1.35. Only you must follow the WineHQ instructions http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...estingId=15768

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, by old computer had a myocardial infarction in the area of the right posterior descending artery, known as the widow maker.
RIP

Ahoi,

due to SH5s DRM$%*$, I decided to install GWX3. It works fine in my ubuntu 9.10 64 Bit. But the I have trouble with the MOD-Enabler, I cant select the Mods to install into the game.

The screenshot describes my trouble, any ideas?

Thanks,
Paco.
