Default Observation Periscope is "stuck"

I've been playing for around an hour now and I'm still figuring everything out. So far i like it quite a bit, but one thing that really annoys me is that somehow I can't lower the oberservation periscope. Once I start a Partol it rises and gets "stuck" at the highest position. I can lower it about two or three feet, but thats it.

I haven't had any enemy contact beyond the tutorial mission, in which this problem ocurred aswell, but I don't know if the enemy-AI will react to it.

I reinstalled the Game already, but that didn't help. I also made some Screenshots, but I couldn't find them in the SH5 folder. If someone could enlighten me where their stored I'd post them.

If you're using the Obs scope it's a few feet up all the time simply because to be fully recessed it has to go into the floor Leave the station to drop it completely.

I know that, but its at least 6 feet out all the time. Its difficult to describe, but its out twice as high as the 2WO is tall at its lowest point.

As said above, you have to leave the station and THEN use a hotkey to lower it. If it's still up after that something is wrong.

OMG they modeled the fact you can't look through the periscope during the entire travel!?!?! YES!! You can't look through it until it's above the deckplate right?

i had this issue but found holiding down page down lowers it, the ctrl page down to auto lower does not seem to work tho.
I spent ages trying to lower it before setting out on patrol as it looked like it would hit the roof on exit.
