Default Three Problems I have seen

First: DON'T GO INTO AMSTERDAM!
Perhaps a coincidence but I was chasing a radioed in convoy leaving Amsterdam. I should have run into it but never did so I decided to check out who was hanging around in the port. About right before I got into sight of the harbor, boom, game closed.

Two: Merchants that stop for a few hours to let you blow them up.
I had been roaming the coast of England for a while unable to find anything until I stumbled upon a convoy. Didn't see any escorts and would have taken to long to try to set up an ambush so I went full speed in with guns blazing. The whole convoy stoped for about 3 hours in game while I emptied my deck gun and made a few hits and missed on them(some torps went right where I put them, but some, I actually hit a ship I didn't aim anywhere near for so I don't really know what is going on). It was bizarre. After about 3 hours the ones who hadn't been hit booked it.

Lastly: "BOO HOO EVERYONES MAKING FUN OF ME" "That's nice, you do know we are under attack" "Well too bad, I don't feel like running silent today"

Ok, so whose idea was it to make there only one option to talk about poor little one eye's hurt feelings. I had just crash dived after seeing the shape of a DD out in the fog, I really didn't feel like giving him a hug when I was trying to rig for silent running. Then after I got through group therapy with my WO why does he refuse to rig for silent running. I don't think it's a moral thing because his moral just went up.

I am probably being redundant here. It's good therapy to talk about your problems though :-p Other than all that I have had a pretty good experience so far. Nothing seems unfixable.

I dont know if its true for 5 or not but in previous versions the radio calls were typically 'color text' added for immersion factor and actually have nothing to do with actual events within the game world.

Lol new issue. I just somehow traveled about 70000 meters with my engine off, no TC. I just flew through the harbor ramming things, and I kept teleporting all over the boat and the hull randomly would disappear and come back. I was about ready to puke when I finally died somewhere in a river/harbor In Scotland.

Luckly I had a save just before it happened. I took a look at the harbor and there are ships bouncing all over the place.

Getting radioed that you should chase a convoy leaving Amsterdam is absolute bull. Amsterdam in not even located near the sea. It is situated on the IJsselmeer (IJssel lake) which has a big dam separating it from the sea. You would not be able to venture there with your U-boat. Not in hostile waters that is.

The port on the coast near Amsterdam is called IJmuiden.....a simple search (google maps) will teach you that!

Maybe your crew decided it was time for shore leave to visit the red light district or enjoy some greener distractions.

Anyway too bad your game quit on you.

I wasn't radioed to there, I got a convoy report and it was leaving the port labeled Amsterdam. I said, why not will be fun. Overall it's kind of cool in there but like I said game crapped out in there, and so I am kind of cautioning going there. However I have run into all my problems near ports so I am staying away from them until the next patch.

@webster: Yeah I saw that. I am going to turn down the reality settings until I figure out wtf I am doing(So I have map contacts). Although I attacked an escort. Listened through the hydrophone and it was exciting hearing the torpedoes go and then the escort gunning it when they sighted the torpedoes, just barely avoided them, it was exciting.

For all the problems this game has, still been having a load of fun.
