Default [REQ] step by step multiple UI by TDW....

Hi all,

I am in very much need of a step by step tut on how to achieve SH3style - all dials as changing the .py cfg-file (and of course saving before someone asks) doesn't change anything. In the py-file I change the UI and TDC in to the wanted styles but nothing happens. It stays SH5Enhanced.

thnx in advance
Marc

Video walk through of installing TDW's NewUI + TDC 2.3.0, with optional folder and key binding change:

Original post:

Step 1 - Grab mod files

Open the NewUIs_TDC_2_2_2_TheDarkWraith.7z file with your 7Zip program. Drill down into the NewUIs_TDC_2_2_2_TheDarkWraith folder, then into the NewUIs_TDC_2_2_2_ByTheDarkWraith folder and finally into the MODS folder.

Those are the folders you'll put in your JSGME MODS folder. The two marked in green are required for your AllDials install. Copy them into your C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\MODS folder.

Your MODS folder should look similar to this now:

At this point if you you could enable the mod with JSGME and enjoy. The dial mode option in the Options file can be left on Minimal Dials, it's the folder that controls what dials appear.

Step 2 - Edit the options

If you want to use a different defaults or change any key mappings or options you'll need to edit the C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\NewUIs_TDC_2_2_2_ByTheDarkWraith\data\Scrip ts\Menu\TheDarkWraithUserOptions.py file. It's just a text file so you can use Notepad or your favorite text editor to make the changes.

(I'll clean this up a bit when I get to work, but this is the basics)

Hi Kylania,

first of all, many thnx for your work in your reply. I tried this but despite the change in the py-file I keep getting the SH5Enhanced style.

You edited the file in the Silent Hunter 5\MODS\... folder first then enabled the mod right?

The only part missing from the above is you must change the file
within the mods folder.
And then un-install the mod and then re-install the mod for the changes
to take effect

You HAVE to change the file AFTER enabling the MODS because before enabling there is no such file as a py-file in folder MODS\NewUIs_TDC_2_3_0_ByTheDarkWraith. It only appears AFTER enabling.

When you change the py-file (AFTER enabling the MOD as mentioned above) and uninstall, then reinstall the original py-file with the SH5Enhanced TDC is back again. So where is the py-file BEFORE enabling the MOD???
