Default Anyone have a list of ship lengths from SH3?

Preferably a list without pictures, printable black and white, listing ships specs, especially ship length?

I doubt it.
Only the war ships and late war standardised ships would be of the same length.

The merchants you will be sinking won't be the same length as the ones in Sh3.

Doesn't SHV have a recognition manual with this kind of data?

I doubt it, I bet the vessels are the exact same length as SH3.

Im putting together a list myself, i need quick accurate speed readings and I do it myself.

And no theres no manual with ship info and the museum does not show the ships lengths.

Wait... do you mean that the Recognition Manual in the game doesn't show length values? Not again!

Can you show us a pic with what it actually shows?

Didn't they say that the recognition manual will be more interactive? You get to select ship class, number of funnels etc?

This might be a huge blow, I was expecting a huge improvement, not a step back.

From this pic, it looks like what are essentially a series of filters accessed thru a dialog screen. So you can, in effect, say how many funnels, etc.

http://www.pcgames.de/screenshots/or...unter_5_38.JPG

The little buttons probably access the different categories

Honestly I do like the quick ablity to identify the ship via the filters, it adds to immersion as I always used to hot key the identify ship command (you cant add that command in SH5, it wont identify for you)

but it is lacking ship length and mark on where to set the stadimeter

its missing the max speed of the ships too

I just hit the queen mary from 2800 metres using standard mathematics, dead centre too, 100% realism

Hit again 3500 meters, I set up a MP mission with one sub, one ship to practice the math.

Here is third shot math (second shot missed due to wrong speed readings):

Huge Liner = 174 meters LOA
Speed = 6 knots (after first hit, initially was 8 knots)
Distance = 3500 meters
Target Course = 270 degrees
Boat Heading = 0 degrees
True Target Bearing = 320 degrees (any further and this would have been a miss due to the gyro angle)

AOB Math: Target Course 270
- True Target Bearing 40
- 180 = AOB of 50 degrees

Hit between the stacks on the water line with impact torp.

Also you can ask for the nearest visual contact if you add the commands to the cfg, so to figure out where to take the stadimeter reading on the liner I asked for a range report and then changed the stadimeter to the same range and could see that the liner takes the range from the top of the bridge roof.
