I assume that is as tough a comment as you can get from the slimy EU. Maybe we should get a commission deciding on a more pleasant time of the year when Lybian djihad would be more appreciable.

I would not worry too much about this.

1. Jihad can mean several things. It is incorrect to assume that Jihad always implies violence.

2. Libya is Sunni and fatwa such as this are non-binding.

3. Only under the loosest interpretation of Islamic scholarship could Gaddafi be considered a serious authority to issue such a fatwa.

4. Gaddafi most certainly does not have the scholarly authority to declare any group or action as being an apostate. He is not an Islamic scholar of any standing.

This is just some politician getting up on his hind legs and yappin.

Best thing to do is ignore him. He is nothing.
