Default Is anyone in USA or Canada looking for a UK Collector's Edition? Maybe I can help ?

With Ubi (UK) and Amazon (UK) not shipping the Collectors Edition to the US or Canada, if anyone is desperate for a CE version of SH5, then maybe I can offer my services, and ship it out to you direct from the UK?

Obviously, I am offereing this as completely profit free, it would simply cost the game cost plus the shipping cost. Nothing more, nothing less.

It is difficult to work out the exact cost, without knowing the weight of the CE box, but assuming it weighs 1.5Kg, the total with signed for tracked Airmail shipping from the UK via Airsure (the Royal Mail site says it should take about 4 days to arrive) would be :

Game - £30.99 ($48.65)
Shipping - £24.46 ($38.40)

These conversions are based on a £/$ rate of 1.57 (todays rate), making a total of $87.05

If anyone is interested in this, please let me know, although please note, the price may go up or down slightly depending on the weight of the box, although 1.5Kg is a reasonable guesstimate of the weight, based on the SH4 Collectors Edition Tin which I bought.

Oh, and as a rough timescale for you to think about, the game ships to me from Amazon (UK) on the 5th March, arrives with me on the 6th March, and I would aim to ship it out to you on Monday the 8th March (the 7th is a Sunday, so no shipping available on that date), hopefully with you by Saturday 13th March.

Cheers,
Kevin.

very kind of you.

I'm sure some would consider it. perhaps even myself depending on further news of the game.

Now... back to my hot cup of tea

I'm interested, but may I wait a bit, they may release a US version. Many thanks, mate.

Absolutey, there is no rush. I shall leave my offer available open ended, anyone is free to take advantage of it at any time.

The only thing I will say is that as is quite normal with Amazon, the price will probably go up after release, but that is not for another few weeks yet.

Regards,
Kevin.

That's a nice offer, but be careful. I've heard before of games that require online activation / validation of regional versions depending on the right regional IP address. E.G. Solidier buys a local European version of the game, tries to install it on his PC, which is on a military US IP and gets an error about the game not being the right regional version.

So, if you buy a UK game and try to activate it in the US or Canada, Ubi may laugh in your face.

That's something I'm not aware of, and to be honest have never come accross. I have bought quite a few US games and played them without problem in the UK.

Maybe it is more of an issue with UK (European) games being played in the US, rather than the other way around.

Good thinking. I'll be buying for collector's value. Want to show it to my great-great-grandson in 2035 when he asks what was the last truly good U-boat sim.

Interesting. I bought my IL-2 1946 European edition from a shop in GB a couple of months before it was released in the US and never had problem one playing it here. Of course, I build my own systems so maybe its based on that as opposed to IP address?

On another note, thanks for the offer. I will keep this in mind if UBI loses their minds and decide not to offer a US CE.

I have decided, reluctantly, after all the aghast comments and posts regarding the excessive cost, to rescind my offer to ship the Collectors Edition out to people in the USA/Canada.

I do hope that anyone lookng for a copy is able to source one (and cheaper than I could, with 4 day shipping).

Regards,
Kevin.
