Default CTD with Fraps

Hey there,

I have the full version of Fraps and I have the screen shot key as 'Insert'. In SH3, I get a CTD whenever I try and take a picture. Any ideas?

I'm running GWX 3.0, SH3Commander, with 16k Atmosphere, Enhanced Damage effects, Integrated Orders and Lite Harbour Traffic. Also running the resolution fix at 1680x1050.

Isn't "Insert" a bound key for raising the observation periscope in the game? That could be the source of your trouble.

No luck, I switched to 'end' which isn't an allocated key, and it still crashed.

I tend to use numpad divide "/" for fraps (though in win 7). It's pretty reliable for me, but I do occasionally get crashes related to alt-tabbing when fraps is running.

Two further questions:

Are you running a recent build of fraps?
Have you tried without the high-res mod?

This is definitivly caused by the rezfix. Without it, you will even be able to record movies. Had this problem, too.

e: I have the problem of a crash with fraps, too, when i record something and alt-tab to desktop. I still have no idea how to solve this. You can avoid this by playing in windowed mode, it will cause no problem.

Well, thanks for your help, I got the resfix disabled and it worked! But my pictures look really bad.

But hell, at least I can take some.

Yes the resfix will cause what you are experiencing....I use the print screen for still shots and TAB for movies (v2.91).

[SJ]nailz,

Check this patch:
http://www.filefront.com/14706827/WA...in7_Patch.rar/

It works nice, but when i patched sh3.exe by this , i have to set my virtual memory to be controled by system. (2,5GB physical Ram + 2gb swap)
Now it works without sign of fu*** CTD issue that blows my rage insideout many times and now i am almost happy man.

Cheerios.
