Game save problems

Hi guys, I just wondered why sometimes my game saves won't load, I save my game only when surfaced and well away from harbours and other ships. The save loads right up to the pop up message and then I get an SH3 error message which dumps me to the desktop. I then have to reverse through my saves until one loads successfully, which of course wipes out any sinkings, I even had to a couple of times roll right back to in base before mission which is damn frustrating.Which can lead a man to drink excessively .

Any advise greatfully accepted.

Cheers.

JimC.

Hi!

You sure that you haven't enabled/disabled any mods which can damage save games?

Hi JimC,
Yes, the gamesave mechanism in SH3 can be a PITA, it can be temperamental. However there are ways to minimise the effect it can have. One thing I do, is to make two saves per game, under different names, I usually find that if one fails to load, then the other save normally works for some reason. I make these different saves a minute or two apart. Just my little workaround that seems to work for me.
Although there could be a number of reasons why the gamesave is victimising you.
If you would post your machine specs, and what supermod and/or other mods you've enabled or disabled, plus if this is a recent development or has been ongoing for some time, this would be a great help to the computer savvy among us.
Hope you find a solution soon.

Thanks, I try to be very careful about where, when and how I save, but didn't think of 2 saves under different names, give that man a medal.
I have installed no mods in between saves, have fallen for that one before.

Cheers

JimC.
