Default A critical issue

Gentlemen,

We all worry too much about historical accuracy, the casting of realistic shadows and other such tomfooleries, while ignoring the most pressing matters.

Today, I'd like to draw your attention to an oft overlooked yet quintessential aspect of submarine warfare.

Beards.

DO THEY GROW!?

Away with you, heathen!

Brothers, have faith, for excess of facial hair and visible lack of hygiene on thy crew cometh!

We must drive out these avian excremental usurpers and spread the true word of realism!

So say we all!

(actually, yes, we could do with some poop, too)

Haha!
As it happens, Ubi do answer questions on these "Critical issues".

They said they taught about it and will include growing beards if there is time to add it.

Didn't they address that one in one of the Q&A posts?

I believe the response was "Sounds nice, might do it, not a priority"

Kind of like everything else...

How about they release what they have now, give the SDK to the GWX team and we wait patiently for GWX 5.0 to have a superb subsim?

Oh wait, that's exactly what's going to happen.

Well, mine did, but the hormone therapy seems to have put a stop to it.

*rolls eyes*

That critical issue is SO last half-hour.

The new criticial issue is whether or not your cook can catch and use the seagulls to make soup, or pie, or both.

I believe I also raised the question of whether or not it would be possible to mod a feature that caused a passing gull to **** on your WO's head on demand, although I'm willing to suspend my request if he'll just stop telling me "Schiff gesichte" every 1.6 seconds when we're pulling away from the docks in Wilhelmshaven.

The beards do not grow but the game is furnished with a black and brown crayon. Simply focus your mouse on each crewmen in turn. Use the crayon of your choice and simply drew the beard on the LCD screen. Be creative!

Beards will be added with the release of SH5 - Character Creator Kit, which is to be released soon before the game hits the shelves.

Players that preorder will get a special online code which would enable (via online activation) more colored beards for the crew, haircuts and possibility to import characters from their The Sims 3 game produced by a friendly company.

Also, do not forget the special armor tier which enhances the DEX and MANA of your boat.

Given the recent revelations, this is probably closer to reality than we'd all like to admit.

"Schiff gesichte!"
"I'm pretty sure that's the Tirpitz, 1WO. I've seen pictures."

"Yes, yes, I get it. There are lots of ships nearby. That's because we haven't left the harbour yet. They're our ships, 1WO. I'm not worried about them, provided you're not at the helm."

*short pause*

"Schiff gesichte!"
"Shut UP, Bernard!"

I've taken to sending him to his quarters until we're well out to sea since I like being on the bridge when we're leaving port and it's either that or throw him overboard.
