Default No VIIC/42 and IXD with SH3Cmd3.2 and using historical Uboat availability dates?

Just checked the U-boat availability dates table in SH3 Cmd user guide, page 20, but failed to find these two, the highest subtype listed is VIIC/41 and IXC.
I'm playing with GWX 3.0 gold and SH3Cmd3.2.

By the way, I'm planning to use a VII all through this career for its versatility, and this table says the earliest date you can get VIIC is in Aug 1940 in 7th Flotilla, while in Jun 1944 VIIC/41 will be available for 1st, 7th and 11th Flotilla. But I doubt if this table is accurate, because it tells me IXB will be available for 2nd Flotilla in Oct 1939, however, not until it reaches Dec 1939 do I find IXB available for me, and I am in 2nd Flotilla. So what is the upgrade routine you recommend for a new VII Kaleun? Thanks in advance.

Just checked it out in Uboat.net, it seems that VIIC/42 was never really put into production, so its absence is historical anyway, but what about IXD2?

I'm not sure of the exact answer to your questions. JScones will have to tell you why he made the choices he did, but from what I've seen his reasons are usually sound.

I once wondered myself about the Type IXB not being available at the beginning of the war, as I was sure they were. It turned out that it was the IXA that was there, and the IXB was indeed not available until later. That of course is a strict adherence to the facts when I would rather have some version of the boat, but I never considered it to be a big thing so I didn't worry about it.

But I heared some IX fans talking about their powerful IXD2, does that mean they all play with "use historical uboats availability dates" turned off?

If the table in SH3 User guide is accurate, then XXI becomes available only 1 month later than VIIC/41. If so, I guess I will change my VIIB into a VIIC as soon as possible, and then upgrade it and stick with it until late war when I can get a XXI.

That I don't know. I keep starting at the beginning of the war and then finding some reason to do it again, so I never get to the late war stuff.

I also tend to stick with the same boat I started with, as most kaleuns did several patrols and then moved up to desk jobs, and I use SH3 Commander's 'Historic Career Length', so I don't last all that long.
