I do believe it's the same program. Some guys even claim they use it on other than Silent Hunter games to install mods.

yep, its the same program.
I have just asked myself this question this afternoon.

All you have to do is to install the jsgme.exe in you SH4 root folder and all should work fine. JSGME will ask you to make a MODS-folder for you. All you have to do is say yes and voila!

JSGME stands for JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler. It is designed to work with any game, and was not created just for Silent Hunter.

You say you already have it installed in SH3. In that case go into Program Files and you'll find a folder titled 'Jonesoft'. In there you'll find a readme titled JSGME Help. This contains a step-by-step guide to install JSGME to any and all games you want to apply mods to.

It should be in one of the cfg files. I don't know for sure because I never use it for anything. I very rarely do upgrades, and then only little ones.

Sorry.

Yep, rename the icon. I currently have JSGME icons for SH3, SH4, SH4 U-boats and Sid Meyer's Pirates all on my desktop.
