Default Here is what I think

I have been a member of Subsim for a few years, and I have supported it in the past. This year I have decided to annually contribute the equivalence of one video game.
If it hadn't been for Subsim, my SH3 (and SH4) would have been in the round file long ago.
I have made a ton of friends and have learned to modify pc games, test the mods, and share them with the community.
Subsim has helped me develop a hobby with a vary interesting background (WWII and naval warfare).
I urge all of you who have profited from your association with Subsim to help support it.

Now where is that bargain bin at Walmart again?

I am new here having only bought SH3 yesterday in the Steam sale.

Somebody told me about this site and the GWX add-on. So in I jump with both feet - I have donated more than the original Steam download costed since having read the forums briefly this afternoon I am already convinced that this site deserves supporting.

I am still searching the forums to see if I should try to master SH3 before installing the GWX add-on. Already done a couple of the tutorials but still very green newbie. Advice appreciated.

Kindest regards

John

Although I can't afford a direct donation what with losing my job after christmas, I have bought all xmas presents through SubSim

I'd advise you play a few patrols using stock/vanilla first.

Well, it's not only that, but it will give you a much greater appreciation of all the things that the GWX team has added to the game.

I haven't played stock in years. I'm sure if I went and tried it, I would find many many things missing that I take for granted.

And one more thing: Welcome Aboard!!!

WELCOME ABOARD!

Jim's advice is always sound (and so is yours, Mookie, so don't feel left out). Play stock, try it at different levels, look around, sink some stuff. Then load up GWX and do the same. Then get serious. You'll love it.

And ask all the questions you want. It's free.
