Default Just ... sigh... (political)

Why this is being done at a time of record deficit. At a time when the 'debt ceiling' had to be raised due to the fact we have already exceeded the standing one... then I read this.

Quote:
The US is prepared to work with other countries toward a goal of jointly mobilizing $100 billion a year by 2020 to address the climate change needs of developing countries,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said.

More money from the poor people in the "rich"countries,
going to the rich people in the poor countries.

The whole situation has gone way beyond "enough is enough".

We have now reached:
Anything is too much.
We can't afford it, period!

When I saw the story, I wanted to see who these countries were (it didn't list them). It's just a wealth transfer, bend over and smile. It's only your money.

If I were to save some money, I'd cut off every last penny of foreign aid, and I'd consider withdrawing all of our armed forces from Europe. Except for the UK maybe or anybody that wants us there.

But what would happen to all the workers in the defence industries ?
Are you really willing to consign all those US workers to living off welfare ?
Plus of course think of all the normal trade that gets linked to aid, are you really wanting to cut off your nose to spite your face there niki ?

You might find that to be a bit of a bugger when you want the facilities for deployment, storage, reinforcement and supply, medical evacution and treatment. It sorta pushes costs up a hell of a lot when you don't have places you can use...which does suggest that you havn't thought it through at all.

One could say that the US Military Industry Complex is too big to fail?
