Well it arrived today so I have cut the hull from the sprues and done a trial fit of the hull. Probably the largest model I have ever made.
![]() Sturdy sprue, needs quite a knife and care to cut through. ![]() Trial fit, looks good even with masking tape holding it together. Looks like the two halves of the lower hull are a bit springy but shouldn't be a problem. As long as I use the tape to hold them together. Also I will need to further sand down the stubs from where I cut it off the sprue. I can still see daylight between the seam of the lower hulls when I look in from where the sail will go. ![]() ![]() That's all for tonight. Will do more on Friday. Need to get a better knife and some sanding sticks. |

First up I made the sail.
![]() Was had to do a bit of sanding to fit and also quite a bit of filler. Fit is generally ok but I just hate having gaps. ![]() Hull has been glued together, as you can see again I have ad to use the filler and sand it back. Starting to look like the real deal. I painted the sail as I still have to add masts and stuff to it. Hull will get a first coat of black all over tomorrow. ![]() Love these small details. The image below is of the escape hatch. This is wrong so I'm going to fill up the channel around the hatch with filler, then scribe on some detail of the mechanism onto the hatch if I am feeling brave. ![]() |

I'll post more pictures later. I have sprayed the hull black so now it is fitting the parts.
