Could you please let me know if SH4 is totally compatible with a widescreen display-----and if not are any problems surmountable. i am running XP.

Built in support, no problems. Be sure you're patched though, some of the earlier versions had issues with interface items in widescreen.

I play on a 22 wide without issue.
