Default Some Food for Thought...

I keep seeing in those 'realistic' sub films the change from regular light to red light when going on an attack run. Is their a way to put this into the game? I know someone came out with a "das boot" mod a week or so back, but from what I understand all that changed was the color of the light from red to blue in some areas. What if you could change from normal light to red say, when you engaged in silent running or something. That way, when your attacking a convoy (and want to be silent anyway) you could still have that cool red light effect.

Again, I saw this stuff in films, so I don't really know how correct it is historically, just thought it might be neat.

Also, Correct me if I'm wrong, but subs can't get radio messages while submerged right? I'm pretty sure they can't, and I just think it would be neat to NOT get any messages while underwater. (I'm not 100% sure if this is in the game or not. I get radio messages at periscope depth, but I don't really know if you get them at any considerable depth or not)

Anyway, just some things I think would be neat.

Default Radio Messages

From my experiences radio messages can be received up to 20 meters depth. Of course you cannot transmit but the messages keep coming in. I usually sumerge to 25 meters to stop the messages.

Keep on sinking em

Ah, so they are in the game. Wasn't sure if that factor was implemented or not.

Thanks!

Yes, they could get radio messages while submerged.

Indeed, that is interesting, Thanks for the Article!

But i found out that the game also has the depths figured in, so all's quiet at 50m!

Anyway, what about the whole switching to red light thing, is this true? I'll check u-boats.net
