Default Here come the women.........

Quote:
The Navy is considering allowing women to serve aboard submarines for the first time, 16 years after bringing female sailors onto surface combat ships.

That is asking for troubles. Women flying fighterjets? Yes. Serving on combat vessels? Yes. Tank crews? Yes. Combat infantry? Yes. Female generals and chiefs of staff? Yes. All yes to that. But submarines? No, sorry. Cramped space, lacking private sphere - I imagine too much extravagant efforts for too little to be gained from this. Submarines are not the spearhead of civil rights movements. And let'S not be mistaken: laws and rules you can form as many as you want: psychological nature of men and women remains the same, ignorrant of bureaucrat's intentions. It's no good idea to expect that nothing would happen if putting both together in a cramped environment for too long time and with no relief breaks possible.

I agree with you Skybird. Unless, however, there is an all female crew on the submarine. Now that would be interesting.

LOL thats like Limbaugh's idea of the all femail 'Amazon Brigade' only available for duty once a month

Just the thought of such a brigade would be enough to scare the poop out of their male counterparts.

Women in the Infantry would pose far more problems than woman aboard a submarine.

When the US Military considers one standard for all it's service members, then I will reconsider my stance against women in the military. Until then, they can all sit behind a desk and push paper for all I care.
