Default Transferring to another base

Just a word of warning to you all.
Was playing an IXB/2nd Flotilla out of Willhelmshaven in August 1940 and was about to head back to base with a damaged boat.
I knew the game would automatically alloate me to Lorient on 1st September but i had 2 weeks in hand so Willhelmshaven it was. Docked there around 20th August.
The damage to my boat took several weeks to repair and it was ready to roll in late September. However I received no crew awards for the hefty renown I earned during the patrol.
It seems that the game engine firstly repaired the damage to my boat and allowed the extra weeks required to do so before registering my boat as arriving at Willhelmshaven. So, it would appear the game decided I docked at Willhelmshaven in late September (which would have been Lorient by that time).
The point is this, if your boat is damaged and you are due to arrive back in port with an automatic transfer looming then you might want to consider heading for your new base and sitting it out until your new orders come in. That way you will be sure to pick up the credits you earned for that patrol.

This is true any time you dock at a port that is not your actual home port.

The fix for this is to use SH3 Commander to allocate promotions, medals, and qualifications as you see fit after such missions.
