Dangerous Waters on a Netbook

Just installed and tested Dangerous Waters on an ASUS Eee PC.

I've got a ASUS 1000H Go with an Intel Atom 270 (1,6Ghz) and 2GB RAM. The GPU is a Intel 945 onboard. Long story short ... it works. Just adjust the graphic settings to the lowest one and run it in 800x600 and you get more than decent frame rates.

Tried a quick mission with the P-3 and it worked well. Furthermore since you don't need the CD while playing its absolutly hassle free.

try this on for size...

combined with a desktop, spreadsheets and manual TMA data, it makes for the perfect mobile firing control computer

DW runs like a top on it, plus it helps for MP testing to make sure MP scenarios are working, triggers are firing, etc..

Yes, right, and such good value at $1,200. I've bought cars for cheaper than that...

Actually its not a bad deal for something this mobile that can perform(in some cases) outperform current desktops. The architecture is dual core, but configured to operate on one core only. You can also connect monitors to it, mice, other peripherals, WLAN, Ethernet, etc. See the online users manual for more details if interested..

But yeah, what we see here is obviously a mark-up.. A couple of years ago I paid less than 1K which was over 50% of its initial value because newer models were being released..

Buying one now with would be ridiculous when you can get better performance and cost savings elsewhere.
