Default Background Music in GWX

Hey guys

I remember asking this before but the search function isn't really helping...

Anyways, is there a way to get back the stock sh3 background music that plays throughout your patrol? I know that GWX has it muted so you only hear the crew's voices.

I remember that you need to change a value in one of the music.cfg files in the game folder but can't remember the exact details...

can anyone refresh my memory?

Thanks!

In the sound folder there is a file called "music" and in that folder, there is a file called "music.cfg"
To get all the music back as in SHIII, replace that file with the original one from SHIII.
To get most of it back, commit out the "empty" file and remove all the ";" in the file, except for the one before GW in the title line.

It depends on the edition of your SHIII DVD. On my DVD it is the file named _2A84A38747A54D2D9899AE6960CD7B98 in the *.cab files. Extract the file and rename it to music.cfg

Cheers,
SquareSteelBar

P.s.: music.cfg

I have a backup SHIII1,4b on my storage hard drive. PM me if you still need the file and I will upload it for you.

I put the music files in the gramophone mixed with other themes.

so when i need silence, for example during depth charge attacks i switch off the gramophone, because the music makes difficult hear the scorts.

Thats a good idea too! Since I haven't been in a battle situation yet, does GWX 3 still play the battle theme music during a hunt? or are all music silenced?

GWX3.0 no longer automatically plays any background music whilst ingame.....you will need to enable it yourself if you want to hear it.

Personally speaking, I prefer to fill my gramaphone folder with music of my choosing and enable it as and when I want to listen to it.
