Hello everyone. I'm new here to these forums, as well as to SH4. I picked it up along with SH5 at a store and have been attempting to play 4 on and off for two weeks and have encountered nothing but problems.
After browsing through these forums I decided to install Webster's GFO Mod v1.1 and have found it to be a big improvement to the game overall, however I've run into an issue with it and am looking for some help. When running the stock version of SH4 v1.5, I could freely move my time compression up into high ranges - 4096x and beyond - with no problems. Mind you things would get choppy and I would have to reduce my compression if I were near enemy ships or very close to land, but even then I could sail by on 1024x with little worry and immediately bump it back up once the contacts were passed. Since installing GFO, I'm lucky to get to 512x even out in the middle of the ocean with no contacts. And attempting to sail between a small chain of islands to get to the other side of the East China Sea has reduced me to 32x. It's really impairing my playing ability. I was just wondering if this is a known issue with this mod, and if anyone knows a way to remedy it? I seem to recall glimpsing on a post about GFO that addressed this but lost where it was, and given that some of those threads have an excess amount of pages of replies I just don't have the patience to slowly read through them all. Additional attempts to use the search feature weren't very fruitful, either. The GFO mod makes me all the more eager to return to the game, so I hope I can get this issue resolved. Any help would be appreciated. :) |
