Default Where is the "Take Photo" Icon?

Morning all:

PI was told to go take pictures of a harbor, and after reading the forums, it said that if I was within 8 nautical miles with periscope I should be able to click the photo Icon, but I cant seem to find it anywhere.

I'm within 1200 meters and still no joy, any thoughts?

Thanks a bunch

Default Not trying to be smart but

...are you at the correct location? Sorry but had to ask. If you are, is the weather crappy (that sometimes affects whether you can take a photo or not). You don't state whether you have stock SH4 or one of the super mods (i.e. TMO). There should be a 'camera' button (button with the image of a camera on it) along the bottom of your screen which, when you are in the right position, will light up, simply click on it.

IIRC, I think you have to lock the target before you can take the photo, and then click the photo icon on the toolbar.

From periscope view, lock (L key) on target then look at the row of icons at the bottom left of the screen. When the Camera icon lights up, click it to take the photo. When the icon goes dark, photo has taken. Conditions of lighting and distance have to be right for the icon to light up.

Default Thanks for the assistance

But there is no Camera Icon at all on the lower left tool bar.

Its not that it wont light up, its simply just not there.

I am within 3 miles of my target, can lock every ship in the harbor, weather is perfect, I'm at periscope looking through it, and still no icon appears on the tool bar.

I think you need to click the scope icon first. The icons will change to show scope functions, and the camera icon will be at the far right of the menu.

The same for pilot rescue. You need to click the binocular icon first, then the life-saver icon shows up on the far right.

The manual isn't much but it does help with basic functions like this. If you don't have a copy, there is one online at http://www.foxtraffic.net.
