Default First GWX patrol in ages!

I've been active on SH4, mainly because it loads quicker. But since my good friend Colin (an avid SH3 player, but not a forum member, oddly enough) HAD to mention SH3 and all the fun he's been having on it, I grabbed a book and played GWX 3.0 again, after about 10 months hiatus

December 1939, Wilhemshaven, U-40 Type IXB
84% realism, only options left unchecked are
No weapons officer assistance
No external view
and no map contact updates, I claim the attack plot guy is a paranoid perfectionist, and its not too far from historical, since I rarely check the map during an attack.

I am using OLCE Gold, for the ultimate in fun and historical accuracy (a years worth of SH4 turns you into a history freak, lemme tell ya)
Playing D.i.K.D, Dead is kinda dead, since I cannot play through whole patrols because of RL.

Starting out from wilhelshaven, I head along the coast of england, and I sink 2 merchant ships, before a third makes me realise a bug stopped my manual targeting system from working,
Returned back to wilhemshaven as a result of a faulty TDC (as noted in the patrol log, attempting another chop at historical accuracy, as I'm sure this isn't uncommon)

Second patrol, after 7 days' repair to the TDC, U-40 sets out again.
so far, I have sunk 9009 Tons of merchants and I haven't even crossed over the Orkneys yet!
of course, my deck gun is practically empty, and I am down 2 eels.

looks like SH427 still has it in the ATO!
