Is there a way to calculate whether or not you will have enough fuel to make it back to port? Thanks! Joe S

I just use the navigation map to find out the distance, and then use the "range at current speed" button at the bottom.

As the Lt. said its a button on the bottom of the nav map.
Beware though he is notoriously inaccurate.

Joe, I'm running ver. 1.5, and now TMO 1.7 as well.
I've been running TMO 1.7 since I started my first campaign/career, so I never checked range before I had TMO 1.7, as I had no need. And I've never had anything older than ver. 1.5. |

If you're talking about my gunnery or my torpedo shooting, you are correct. I don't think I've posted anything inaccurate on the boards though. If I have, please bring it to my attention. |

I believe Steamwake was referring to The Nav in game.

You are correct, the button I use is not there in your screen shot. I'm not sure if mine is from ver. 1.5 or the TMO 1.7 mod.

Is there a simple way to get it back without installing a major mod? Thanks, Joe S

It's not there in 1.4. So short of editing some files, which it would be hard to say if it's anywhere in any 1.4 files, I think you are SOL.

I think ETR is correct, I don't think you can get it back, as I don't think it was there to begin with. It would probably be worth it to upgrade to 1.5, even if you don't want to run one of the mods. I don't think that would help you now though.

I see Silent Hunter Gold is available with the U-boat missions. I assume there is a way to load it in a different directory from what I have and one without interefering with the other? I also assume this would be the latest and greatest version, 1.5, am I correct? Thanks! Joe

I believe the two icons are...
Maximum range at current speed. Range to end course So you get your range to end course, your last waypoint and using the max range at current speed, you can play with you speed settings to see how fast you can go and make it. Another icon about time at current speed, but I can't remember the exact line. |
