Default Command room

Hi! I have two questions.
1. I like to stay in command room during submerged run, so there is the problem. I'd like to have diffrent position of camera (commander eye's view) in command room, where can I change it|?
2. I play OLC GUI, interface is great, but I can't use nav map tools during pause. How can I restore ability to use them ?

Thanks in advance.

For 1.):

Hit 'Shift + F2'

I'm not a noob. I want to change commander position, not to make "a tour over the ship".

You could try Stormfly's mod:-

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=154643

This is an extension to the standard free cam but much more versatile. You can move your position to wherever you want and also access various controls and features. For example if you want to use the map, a simple mouse click on the map on the navigator's table will take you to it.

BTW: the standard shift+f2 would also enable the position change- so Squaresteelbar's suggestion was not at all invalid!

Thx for reply, but honestly, I'm not looking for a free cam view. I used to moove on the ship using arrows, mouse, and "0" key on numpad. What I want, is to change commander's position in command room. Now he's standing next to obs periscope. I'd like to move him to another place, just between weapo oficer station and crew managing / repair station. I'm also interested with changing commander position on the bridge (he's to tall, and if it's possible I'd like to move him a littlebit forward). I'm looking for an answer like "open file XXXX.cam/sim/val/cfg, and search in line XXX".

Sorry to belabour the point Kermit, but Stormfly's free cam can do exactly what you describe.

You can use it to walk around if you want but you don't have to. The slideout station shortcuts work just as well.

Example: I have just 'walked' my Control room view to the table at left of Weapons Officer. This has now become the default view for the CR.

Next, using slideout station buttons, I went to bridge and 'walked' just in front of UZO - setting the default bridge view at this point.

Two clicks of numpad 0 ( or click on CR Station button) and I'm back in Control Room at the desk.

Another click on Bridge station button and I'm back behind the UZO.

It really is that simple. The big plus point over standard free cam is that you can access crew and objects from your new viewpoint. Shift+f2 doesn't let you do that.

Should mention that it is possible to make the camera defaults in the way you suggest but it is not particularly easy. Using S3D you would need to go to the Interior fore camera node section in the Cameras dat file and modify the parameters therein. Same for the bridge view. Have tried this in the past and did manage to reposition the camera but only after a lot of trial and error.

Would seriously suggest that give SF's mod a try. You can always delete it if doesn't work for you

Thx for info. I'll check this mod right now. And what about second question? How to restore nav map tools during pause (under OLC GUI).

Sorry matey, can't help with this one. I don't use OLC or any variant of it.

Might be an idea to open a new thread highlighting the OLC element of your post - might attract the attention of the OLC gurus rather more than the current Command Room heading.

Good Luck!
