Default Lifeguard Duty?

I've been mostly playing SH3 for the past couple of weeks and now going back to SH4.

Last campaign I was using RSRDC and RFB. I never received any lifeguard or infiltration type tasking. What do I need to do to get assigned those types of missions - not transfer to a Gato or Balao?

You shouldn't expect a lot of special missions, especially with RSRDC. They weren't that common, at least not early in the war. The lifeguard missions didn't happen until we were able to bomb enemy bases, and the photo recon missions were not often needed. The mine-laying missions aren't simulated in the game.

You might get more if you command a Narwhal class boat. Not sure about that.

Have a look at this mod, you'll have infiltration missions coming out of your ears.

I do not see in the documentation is the mod compatible with RFB and RSRD?

The Guerrilla Submarines Spyron Mod has been tested in a clean (i.e., unmodded), stock install of Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific, v1.5.

The changes in the missions files would be a NO to RFB or RSRD I would assume. It might work with Websters GFO mod if the missions files were removed but as I haven't compared that mod with the Spyron mod I couldn't be certain on that either.

Is it a NO for RFB and RSRD because it will in some way drastically change those mods? If this is changing what missions may appear I do not understand why it would disrupt any submarine characteristic aspects of RFB or the traffic aspects that RSRD bring.

As a test I am currently running this mod with RFB + RSRD. So far on a new career I have seen no ill affects during game play.

I would much appreciate an update on your test merc4ulfate, I would be gobsmacked if there are no problems or conflicts though.

this is my current mods list:

Generic Mod Enabler - v2.6.0.157

RFB_2.0
RFB_2.0_Patch_23April2010
RSRDC_RFB_V575
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1
EAXsoundsim_without_WebstersManeuver_STOCK_GFO_OM
Improved Ship Physics_2.1
Guerrilla-Submarines-Spyron-Mod-v1
Classe_Balao_CamoTri

GSSpyron changed a ton of things in RSRD but only a few in RFB and none on the ISP.

While the game play seemed normal and the first mission was enjoyable trying to sink a ship was next to impossible. I also found that at Rabaul The British had control of Rabaul and had ships there with a PT boat as a guard but right below it in the bay there was a Japanese port.

When ISP 2 came out it had a few bugs such as impossible to sink vessels. Some how this mod while not changing 2.1 has changed the ships to be harder to sink. If your going 2 knots in reverse the amount of time to then go 2 knots forwards seems rather long.

I did like the men on the bow during the mission that was a nice touch but I feel GSS interferes with RSRD and ISP way to much to have them in a mods list with it.

It will work better with Websters GFO mod as they are the stock campaign files which can be removed easily. I'll test it out when I have time and see which files if any conflict with the Spyron mod after removing them.
