Welcome to the Noob's Guide to Sid Meier's Pirates!
This thread is aimed at educating those who are ignorant about the game that is Sid Meier's Pirates!
First: Sid Meier's Pirates! is a top-down pirate game. You can make your future, whether you be a officer in the Navy, a privateer captain in search of pirates, or a pirate yourself, in search of riches, is up to you. It takes place in the Caribbean, with several start dates and starting countries. What country you pick doesn't really matter, as you will develop your own relationships with these countries or go to war with a country you once called a friend.
Next: No, there is no multiplayer
Third: Playable ships, countries, etc
Countries: You can play as:
The English: Several capitals spread across the Carribean, especially in the North-East.
The Dutch: A small country with a rather formidable navy. That's all there is to say.
The Spanish: A country with a huge navy, a huge collection of cities, but they are all spread widely across. Probably the easiest to play as.
The French: Just like the English, but more French. Several capitals, a powerful navy, and beautiful daughters
Now, for the ships. This will be quick, I promise you.
Pinnaces: Extremely fast and highly maneuverable, but carry a small amount of cannon and crew
Sloops: Very fast and highly maneuverable, can carry up to 20 cannon and 200 crew.
Brigs/Brigantines: Fast and fairly maneuverable, can pack up to 32 cannon on war variants.
Frigates: Fairly slow and fairly maneuverable, can pack up to 48 cannon, the most on any ship.
Galleon: Several variants, all slow and not very maneuverable, but can pack up to 42 cannon. Most common are the Trade Galleons for merchants and fast galleons (not fast) for warships.
Merchantman: Several variants, again, all slow and not very maneuverable. Includes the galleon and merchantman.
Now, for the skills:
Fencing: improves your reaction time in swordfish ting
Gunnery: What the name suggests (improves accuracy)
Romance: Improves your standing with the governor's daughters
Medicine: Extends lifespan and health
Navigation: Increases speed when facing into the wind
That's all I can think of for now, if there are more, please tell me.
BEGINNING HELP:
When you start offl you'll most likely have a sloop and a small crew. I suggest you head for the nearest port and talk to the stranger in the corner. He'l get you started on your quest. I suggest you spend your first hour in game trying to complete The Quest, because your age decreases your fencing skills and you'll need those in endgame (no spoilers)
That's all for now, more help coming your way soon, noobs!

Welcome to the Noob's Guide to Battlefield 4!
We'll be discussing vehicles, weapons, classes and tips for how to succeed!
First: Battlefield 4 is a FPS (First-Person-Shooter) that takes place in the near future (20 years or so) and includes a campaign mode and multiplayer mode. In the campaign you have 3 difficulty levels; easy, normal, and DICE (hard). In multiplayer, you start off with all the classes unlocked but the weapons and gadgets not. You must level up in order to unlock certain weapons.
Next: This time, there is a multiplayer mode(s)
Third: Playable classes:
In Battlefield 4 multiplayer, you can choose from 4 classes. Here they are, each with their own specialities:
Assault: Best used when directly assaulting an enemy's base. Can deploy medic bags, grenade launchers and more explosives.
Engineer: Aimed toward anti-armor. Features PDWs (Personal-Defense-Weapons) and rocket launchers of all sorts. Yes, that includes the RPG . Can also repair vehicles.
Support: Great for supporting players using the Assault class. Comes with LMGs (light machine guns) for covering fire. Can deploy C4 or mortars.
Recon: Sniper class (good luck no-scoping). Great for long range engagements and attacking other snipers. Can deploy drones and C4.
Now, on to the Vehicles!
GROUND VEHICLES:
Jeep: As the title suggests, it's a jeep. Includes a machine gun and room for 4 people. Also good for anti-armor (smack some C4 on the front)
Tank: The extremely-heavy armor. Carries a 120mm main gun that can utilize different types of ammunition. Can hold 2 people, with the second person acting as machine gunner.
Mobile AA: Designed for your mobile anti-aircraft needs, this vehicle is excellent at taking out infantry and air vehicles. Comes with a minigun-sort-of-thing and guided rockets. Has some pretty heavy armor too.
Infantry Fighting Vehicle: Best used when safely carrying infantry to point a. Has pretty heavy armor, and features a machine gun and rockets. Can carry up to 6 people, I think.
Mobile Rocket Launcher: The name. It's so obvious.
AIR VEHICLES:
Stealth Jet: A (stealthy) jet that's perfect for dogfights. Can do a decent strafing run too. Carries one player.
Ground-Attack Jet: Absolutely perfect for anti-armor. Extremely heavy machine gun and guided rockets, this plane is a beast on most maps when dealing with armor.
Transport Helicopter: Like the IFV, this helicopter is made for transporting troops from base to base. Not very well armored, but carries 2 side miniguns. Carries 6.
Attack Chopper: A flying tank. Carries 2 players, and features machine guns, rockets, and missiles. Perfect for destroying tanks as well.
Light Attack Chopper: Best helicopter, no doubt. Carries 4 players, extremely-highly maneuverable, and features explosive rounds for machine guns, this helicopter can hold its own agains jets.
WATER VEHICLES:
Jetski: A two-player vehicle that's very fast, and very maneuverable. Second rider can use weapons (RPGs, LMGs, etc)
Attack Boat: A fast boat, this 6 person boat features guided rockets and heavy machine guns. A tank on the water.
LASTLY, FOR THE WEAPONS:
Assault rifles
PDWs
Sniper Rifles
Light Machine Guns
DMRs
Shotguns
Pistols

I know the ending on this one was short, but I was running out of time. Sorry!

If you guys would like more Noob's Guides, post below! It can be any game, but it might take some time to produce, as I have and play both Battlefield 4 and Sid Meier's Pirates. I could do Destiny, Batman: Arkham City, Minecraft, Empire: Total War, Silent Hunter 4 and 5, or Assassins Creed: Black Flag. Pick one of those or comment, and if I know enough about it, I'll do it!
