That baby is going to have to get approved before the FAA will let you fly it so anything that gives it a military ability must go.There are a few older Mig-21Fs in the states(pre Bis) now a Mig-21Bis i dont know if they allow that. And you could forget about an SU-27 that is still a first world fighter.the ones at low end of the price spectrum are most likely junkers even by russian standards.I read somewhere that some guy bought two Mig-29s from Maldova for like $120,000.00 each. And the US did let them get shipped here but when the man asked for FAA approval they inspected tham and said no way because they cant have the avoinics that gives them a military ability and there is no alternative avoinics for a Mig-29 the planes would be rendered unflyable by FAA standards so i think the The USAF bought them and tested them to destruction(took them apart to test how strong the airframes where)

This is a very common trick pulled by former WARSAW pact and Soviet nations they know there are lots of western collectors and they will sell crap to them and laugh all the way to the bank.

Your knowledge of FAA laws is a little lacking. Look up the word 'Experimental' and what happens to FAA classification when it is written on the side of an aircraft.

This is how kit built airplanes and military aircraft are allowed in civilian hands. It bypasses FAA regulation. BTW - At least 1 F-16 and at least 1 F-18 is in civi hands as well in this country.

First privately owned Flankers are in the US! Two of them!

We're pleased to announce the arrival of the first pair of privately-owned Sukhoi SU-27 Flankers in the USA. Needless to say, these aircraft are worlds apart from most jet warbirds -- in size, performance, technological sophistication, and "wow-factor."

Pride Aircraft was picked to import, modify, assemble and certify these aircraft for their new owners.

The photos below show the arrival of both aircraft. These Flankers will soon be airworthy, and we will bring you some pictures and videos of this when it happens.

I read that some private company will be using them to train US pilots too. Nothing beats the real thing when Red Flag rolls around.

BTW - added the news article above. I'd say that they are correct with the 'wow' factor portion of their news brief.
